Prior to becoming president in March 2009, Mr. Ioannou was most recently Chief Operating Officer of Akrion Systems and its predecessor Akrion, Inc., serving in that capacity since July of 2007. From 2005 until 2007, Mr. Ioannou was owner and principal for International Technical Management Services LLC of Acton, Massachusetts. In this capacity he provided management services for technology organizations in the areas of technology development, technical design and analysis, concurrent product development, program management, organizational alignment and outsourcing strategies. From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Ioannou was an executive at Axcelis Technologies, Inc., a manufacturer of semiconductor equipment. He started there as director of engineering and advanced to director of product engineering and support. Mr. Ioannou holds a MBA from the City University in Seattle, Washington and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in aerospace studies from the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
W. James Whittle
Chief Financial Officer
James Whittle serves Akrion Systems as Chief Financial Officer. He was most recently CFO for Akrion, Inc.,with that company since 2005. He has over 20 years of experience as chief financial officer for capital equipment and service oriented companies, serving in executive financial positions for companies such as Data Switch Corporation, ITT and Sterling Fluid Products. Experienced in international business and fluent in several languages, Whittle has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from North London Polytechnic and is certified as a Chartered Management Accountant in the UK and is an International Associate of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Ismail Kashkoush, Ph.D.
Vice President, Applications and Technology
Dr. Kashkoush is responsible for managing Akrion Systems Process Engineering Department and Class 1 R&D laboratory. In his role, he also maintains the technology road map and provides technical support for product development. Dr. Kashkoush holds 15 patents in the field of wafer surface preparation science and technology. In addition, he has published and coauthored more than 65 articles in the area of microcontamination characterization, removal, and control. Dr. Kashkoush conducts regular seminars on wafer surface preparation technology for the IC and solar industries. He received his PhD in engineering sciences from Clarkson University (Potsdam, NY) in 1993.
Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Mr. McManus is Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Akrion Systems LLC. He has 15 years of experience in the microelectronics/photovoltaic industries. Prior to becoming VP, Mr. McManus served in engineering, sales and marketing positions for Akrion, Inc. and SubMicron Systems. Mr. McManus has a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering as well as a Master’s in Business Administration, both from Villanova University in Pennsylvania.
